Have you ever felt too many thoughts rushing through your minds or a sudden traffic jam in your thought process or just a thoughtless mind at all? I am sure we all have experienced something like this and how did we feel then? In-control or helpless?
Generally in such situations we go blank. That’s the time when we need to take control and Mind Our Mind. Now the next obvious question is how do we do that? Its not that difficult.
So in situations where you feel that there are too many things on your mind and you cannot take it anymore, the best way is to shout, ‘STOP’, in your mind or aloud, if you can. This will stop for a few seconds all the rushing thoughts in the mind. After this, immediately take down a piece of paper and write all the work that needs to be done. Prioritize them immediately, take a deep breath and then start executing.
It works! Try it out.
Now for situations when there’s traffic jam in the mind i.e. when there are too many thoughts but with blockages hindering the execution of thoughts. The best way to deal with this is again to repeat the above STOP technique followed by distracting ourselves by anything that interests us, for sometime. Its like giving our mind a mini break. Once we feel refreshed, we can get back to each thought one by one and put them into action.
Lastly, for times when we feel completely thoughtless, we can actually use that time and get back to doing stuffs that we enjoy doing. It basically gives us the ‘ME’ time that we all crave for once in a while. So why not use this time?
The above discussed techniques actually help us to ‘Mind our Mind’. Would you like to try these for yourselves?
P.S.- it requires sincere practice.
So till the time we master to Mind Our Mind, LetSmile J.
